Simply put, podcasts are a means of making audio and video content available on-demand. Podcast content is typically released episodically and made available for download via an RSS feed subscription. By using a computer application known as a "podcatcher" you can subscribe to one or more podcast RSS feeds. The podcatcher will use the information from each RSS feed to determine when new content is available and automatically download the content to your computer where you can listen or watch whenever you want. Even better, you can add the downloaded files to your portable media player or burn to a CD for on-the-go listening.
Each week we will make the latest sermons available for download. So if for some reason you miss a sermon or just want to hear it again you can - whether you're at home, in your car or wherever.
There are many applications available for subscribing to podcasts but probably the two most popular and simplest to use are Apple's iTunes and Microsoft's Zune software. Which one you choose will likely depend on what type of portable MP3 player you have. If you have an iPod then iTunes is the obvious choice. If you have a Zune then the Zune software is the clear choice. However, having a portable MP3 player is not a requirement. If you don't own a portable MP3 player you can still use either software to subscribe to podcasts and listen to sermons on your computer or even burn to a CD for listening on a CD player. Just follow these simple steps to subscribe to our podcasts:
